For School Students

Talks, workshops and one-to-one support and guidance on:

  • 'Target Uni': a bespoke programme arranged with individual schools. This is a 15 month programme (starting in Sept/Oct of Year 12) for up to 15 of your most able students (it continues through to Oct/Nov of Year 13). It develops understanding, skills, reading, research and experiences beyond the A Level syllabus. Students are lent books about the university subject they are interested in from the extensive 'futureHigher' lending library. It includes the 'Personal Statement Immersion' day in June/July and support with personal statements, university applications and interview preparation in Year 13. This programme includes on-line support for the students. It can be for a total of 5 - 15 days over the year.
  • A Year 12 ‘Sixth Form Induction’ day (possibly bringing in other speakers)
  • Researching and choosing universities and courses (a full day of half-day session for Year 12 Level 3 students in the summer term)
  • Workshop/Talk on writing UCAS Personal Statements
  • Personal Statement ‘Immersion’ day (a full day ‘Immersion’ workshop for up to 25 students). On-line support with their personal statements is also available for students on a one-to-one basis.
  • Student loans and finance (a one hour talk to students in the summer term of Year 12 or autumn term of Year 13)
  • Applying to Oxbridge (a half day workshop for students at the end of Year 12 or at the very start of Year 13)
  • Applying for medicine and dentistry (a half day workshop for students at the end of Year 12 or at the very start of Year 13)
  • Interview skills: a half day workshop for students who will be applying to universities & courses that interview applicants - these workshops could be at the end of Year 12 or at the start of Year 13. These could also be delivered as two half day workshops with different cohorts on the same day
  • Workshop/Talk for Year 11 students on choosing A-Level subjects with University in mind
